Stupid question

It's not quite the same, but I understand you. Anyway, what's wrong with it? Is it because you're just looking for fun, no strings attached?

BTW, I'm not looking for anything, or anybody I should say, so I'm not criticising anybody for their reasons for being here.

I am not looking for anything as such either..If someone (girl) passes 'pays me a vist/flower..' I return the compliment. I look at their profile and I says they are looking fof marriage.. No problem with that. I think you've a better chance of meeting the right person closer to home..

I agree everone is here for their own agenda

Because marriege is meant to last. It's also a way of getting someone with serious intentions. If you don't want to marry, what do you want then?

Even if were looking I would never put "marriage" in my profile. Serious relationship is better. Talk of marriage in a dating site profile is a bit scary in my opinion.

I have nothing against marriage. My parents have been married for yonks..But wot I have found here is girls who haven't been married or had sprogs before are generally looking to be happy harried. While girls who have been married..generally don't look for the same thing..

I disagree...why should talk of marriage be scary??...this is a dating site....it is a logical and appropriate component of that....it's more an age thing...marriage is for those young enough to want to start a family...for the rest of us, over 45...forget it...been there, done that...

Well yes I agree. It is an age thing. I meant scary for over 45's. Once bitten twice shy. Or for some people here 4 or 5 times bitten.....now that is scary. I had a man write to me for a while then I found out he had been married seven times. wow!

At the same time, we should be ashamed of ourselves....to lose the belief in love and marriage is to finally accept old age and cynicism....belief in love should remain eternal...and why not marriage at any age??... if the love is supreme and indestructible...??...none of us should ever give up hope....

Maybe you misunderstand me. I agree with you, there's nothing wrong with wanting marriage at any age.

If you met somebody in RL and on the first date she says, "Well I want marriage...." You'd be leaning back in your chair a little wouldn't you? It's the same with the profile, just a bit full on.

Quite so...but at the same time, if that is what your desire is, why not state it in your profile??...."MARRIAGE".....then all of us guys know exactly what you're looking for.....sometimes simple and direct is better than obtuse, oblique and opaque....I respect totally a profile that states that the owner is looking for marriage. Bang...on the table...nothing to hide. I like that....honesty is refreshing...we all only have 5 minutes of fame...can't muck about, ya know...
