Good to be wrong?

This may well be a bit philosophical, but still very true to me:

If you are right about something, you better be sure. You will have to face the contesters and in the end visualise, explain and teach others about it. (For example, the earth is a globe, right?)

If you are wrong, you do not even have to be sure. Just back off all responsibilities, lean back and listen to what was right. No strain, nothing.

So why do I hate to be wrong? It is obviously the best choice and the answer to a more relaxed life. My new motto: Dare to be wrong!

And a funny side note - have you (yes, You!) realised that when posting a new thread it always starts with 3 "Views" confused

Gruetzi, and good day to you - I always read your name as "Mikes In Pain".........cheers

I always think I am right, and then someone shows me I am wrong. So, unless proven to be wrong, one is always right? There are many viewpoints - and not all of them correct, maybe, for each individual. But - some ideas or methods work better than some ..... So, to me, I always enjoy hearing adverse discussions about things .... Who knows ...... perhaps there is a tiny bit of something I can add to my knowledge? ... and sometimes cause a complete turn-about.....?cheers

Nein, I am not wanting to be Right.... I just think I am right - until proven to be wrong or if their is room for improvement .... I have a fairly flexible brain.cheers

but surely everybody think THEY are right - and that's why usually arguments (for want of a better word) arise.
IMHO i think it is better to be CORRECT (from a particular viewpoint)because that is usually unarguable unless you move the goalposts (i.e. viewpoint)

I do not have any burning desire to be right, nor to be wrong, sometimes my views are never right or wrong, they are my views.

If I behave in a wrong manner, then I will listen to why I a, wrong, but if I believe I am right, I will have to agree to disagree.

But I do listen.

I think listening is a much better trait to have than being right or wrong.

Seems like my lazy Sunday thinking got some serious response wow!

I did not expect nor wish nor ask for that, but hey, great reading wave

I just wanted to say, I am happy listening from over here and add a bit when I think it will be worth hearing.

As opposed to even talking a breath in public "over there" rolling eyes

Actually ... its better to be wrong - then other people feel they obliged to do the work - and I can just stay sitting in the sun........

When I used to think I was so clever and right all the time, I got all the work to do, cause no-one else could do it perfect and correctly like I could. Now I find its better to be wrong, and allow others to be not so perfect, as long as the job gets done - anyhow, somehow.cheers

I know, its fantastic to be Not So Clever! You also get to shrug your shoulders when/if anyone complains, and say "Wahl, I was just sitting here in the sun minding my own business ..... They did that"......cheers
